CLASSIFICATION: Substitute Bus Aide
LOCATION: Transportation
SALARY RANGE: $17.88 Per Hour
LENGTH OF WORK DAY: Various hours
Monday-Friday
LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: School Year

Requirements:
- Must have a positive working relationship with bus driver, parents, and students with disabilities.
- Must be physically able to perform duties for students in wheelchairs or with other special needs.
- Prior experience preferred.
- CPI training is required. Training will be scheduled and provided by HHCS.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus.
- Inspects transportation list of students to prevent unauthorized travel.
- Assists young or students with disabilities in getting on and off the bus.
- Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion, and safely to parent/guardian or school personnel.
- Provides written records of violations of the student code to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Reports disruptive students to the appropriate authorities where the child is enrolled.
- Collects and turns over to the transportation secretary those personal items left on the bus by students.
- Attends meetings as requested by the Transportation Supervisor.
- Completes all necessary forms as required and turns them in on time.
- Communication between school staff and parents.
- Follows all policies adopted by the Board of Education, and laws set forth by the local and state government.
- Other duties as may be directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
