This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS) within HII's Mission Technologies division, supporting cyber, electronic warfare, and C5

ISR systems. The software team at Wright Patterson Air Force Base develops and maintains internal web applications and user interfaces using .NET Core, Node.js, Vue, and modern JavaScript libraries. The role spans all career levels – Junior, Mid, Senior, and SME – and focuses on next‑generation application design, innovation, and architectural leadership.

• Implement new software functionality using industry‑standard frameworks.
• Evaluate existing solutions and propose improvements and extensions to the product architecture.
• Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities within the software applications design organization.
• Develop code, debug, and test software enhancements in local, networked, or web services/applications in C#, JavaScript, Type Script, Vue, T‑SQL, HTML, CSS, and the latest Microsoft stack.
• Build web API using modern frameworks such as .NET Core, Node.js, etc.
• Provide domain‑specific expertise and overall software applications leadership and perspective to cross‑organization projects, programmes, and activities.
• Create and/or contribute to technical and functional documentation such as detailed architectural and system design documents.
• Participate in project planning, status, and review meetings.
• Participate in peer reviews and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with application design and development guidelines and standards.
• Identify problem areas, determine causes of problems, and suggest actions for solving them.
• Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.

• Working knowledge of HTML, XML, JavaScript, Type Script, and CSS.
• Experience with Web API or similar SOA frameworks.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools.
• Secret Security Clearance to start.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with enhanced security check.
• Junior: 0 years experience, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Mid: 2 years relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Senior: 5 years relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• SME: 9 years relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

• Knowledge of Git Lab or similar tools (Git Hub, Jira, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience with recent versions of Microsoft Visual Studio and unit test development.
• Strong communication skills.
• Microsoft and/or Security certifications or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with C++, Qt, and Python is a plus.

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Software Engineer family.
