Position: Field Service Technician (Dayton)

Summary of Responsibilities

A leading regional distributor of CNC machine tools, tooling, accessories, and related engineering and support services is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented
CNC Field Service Technician
to support customers throughout the
Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio area
. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machine tools at customer locations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and excels in both technical problem-solving and customer-facing communication.

What You Will Contribute
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the
    Cincinnati and Dayton region
    to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and related control systems
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues efficiently and accurately
  • Utilize machine manuals, technical documentation, internal resources, and vendor support to research and resolve machine issues
  • Accurately document service activities, repairs, installations, and machine status for both internal teams and customers
  • Promote and perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment
  • Provide after-sales technical support and operator training as needed
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of machine tool technology and product lines represented by the company
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management in both verbal and written formats
  • Perform related duties as required
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical repair of CNC machine tools (CNC field service experience preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics and drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional and technical writing skills for service documentation and reporting
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel frequently throughout the
    Cincinnati/Dayton territory
    with flexible work hours
  • Must possess basic hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.); specialty tools will be provided by the company

  • Extensive on-the-job training provided
  • Ongoing technical training to support professional growth and product knowledge
