Responsibilities
  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer tools where applicable.
  • Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks.
  • Performs facility maintenance duties and interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint.
  • Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation; adheres to safety, DOT, MOT and all applicable guidelines.
  • Acts as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and accesses internal/external maintenance documents.
  • Other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support.
  • Completion goals: SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
    220) and completion of OEM On-Line diagnostic tool courses as required by location fleet mix (goal within 365 days).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification preferred; post-secondary degree or technical certifications.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
    • Routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
    • Basic diagnostics and repairs including AC and electrical systems.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • All other certifications as required by location (required) and CDL CLASS A (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse, etc.).
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire, pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor vehicle checks per policy.

Compensation & Perks
  • Hourly Pay: $31.50 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification obtained (up to $700)
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter
  • Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday; weekends off
  • Hours:

    Second shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm
