The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Security Specialist providing expert technical advice and technical expertise in managing security programs to mitigate risks of compromise, unauthorized disclosure, or damage to classified information, Controlled Unclassified information, and Critical Program Information.
DutiesWhile all roles serve as security technical experts, the focus of the duties varies by specialization. Candidates may be considered for one or more of the following roles based on their qualifications.
Requirements- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guidance
- If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:

- Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
- Employee must maintain current certifications
- This position may require drug testing, and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
- Disclosure of Political Appointments
- Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period
- Relocation costs or other incentives may be available and considered by the organization
- All federal employees are required to have direct deposit
- This announcement may result in a 120-day register that may be used to fill like vacancies for 120 days after the closing date. Applicants may be referred for consideration as vacancies occur
- This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206)
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. FMS Security Specialists may travel overseas
- This position is designated as a national security position
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position
- FMS Security Specialists are required to obtain and maintain work level appropriate Security Cooperation Workforce Development training and certification
