Job Description Research Scientist - Human Performance / Physiology

AV is seeking a Research Scientist to join our growing team at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, you will support cutting-edge research within the Human Performance Directorate of the 711th Human Performance Wing, contributing to the Air Force's mission to optimize human performance in demanding aerospace environments.

• Identify, integrate, and test hardware and software systems that enable advanced aerospace physiology research.
• Support a variety of biomechanical, biometric, and cognitive data collection and analysis efforts.
• Troubleshoot and maintain experimental equipment, ensuring reliable data acquisition and system functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with human subjects, government researchers, and industry partners to support ongoing studies and research initiatives.
• Document research protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical findings to support project deliverables.

• This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
• Master s degree in a related scientific, engineering, or health-focused field
• 15+ years of relevant research or industry experience
• Hands-on experience acquiring, installing, and maintaining test equipment to meet specific project or research requirements
• Proven experience in the collection, management, and analysis of large datasets, including working with data communication protocols and analysis pipelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience authoring reports, SOPs, and test documentation
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead groups performing technical tasks

• Prior experience working with human subjects in research or clinical settings
• Prior experience supporting physiological studies within a human centrifuge
• Experience working with the DoD

The salary range for this role is $112,500 - $159,600
