Sanitation Technician

Dayton, OH

$17.25 – $19.38 per hour

6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Wednesday – Saturday

• Work in a team‑oriented and safety‑conscious environment, following PJHA, Observation process, and all company/safety guidelines.
• Sanitize and clean assigned areas per master cleaning schedules and procedures (washing down, shoveling, de‑junking, vacuuming, sweeping).
• Assist in formulating sanitation standards and work procedures; provide feedback on discrepancies.
• Operate skid‑steer loaders, scissors lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and hand/power tools.
• Communicate effectively with team lead, supervisor, and customers to accomplish tasks and build customer relations.
• Maintain adherence to the published work schedule; be available for overtime as required.
• Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, using fall protection equipment when needed.
• Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work, personnel, and employee complaints.
• Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends, when demanded.
• Perform other duties as defined by company and/or customer.
• Clean process screens with a concentrated solution daily (caustic cleaning).
• Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Achieve performance expectations set in appraisals, including employee development planning.
• Assist in developing short‑ and long‑range planning to support company goals.
• Meet physical requirements of the job (details below).
• Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Accurate and timely administrative duties (time accounting, work order completion).
• Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

• 2 years in industrial cleaning desired but not required.

• Observe details at close range.
• Control precision – quickly and repeatedly adjust machine or vehicle controls to exact positions.
• Manual dexterity – quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
• Substantial lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Move for extended or continuous periods.
• Ascend/descend staircases, ladders, and step stools.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
• Operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
• Wear respirator while performing job duties.
• Communicate information and ideas clearly.
• Arrange actions or items in specific order or pattern.

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, vibration, extreme heat and cold, wet and humid conditions, and loud noise levels.
