Division Overview

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts.

Position Overview

Starting rate is $25.41 per hour, with a contractual increase annually per bargaining agreement. Quality/Production Tech's are responsible for the tending of one or more automated or manual testing/production machines or equipment that perform one or more functions in the making of beverage can lids. Maintains and observes operation of machines, gauges and equipment to insure the production of high-quality ends.

Inspects ends according to customer specifications. Interprets quality test results and if specifications are not met, informs Team Leader or Team Coordinator. If the machine jams, stops machine and clears away damaged or jammed lids, etc. Other duties as assigned by the team or management.

Responsible for the housekeeping and cleaning in the area of responsibility such as wiping clean machines, picking up ends, emptying spoilage container, mopping, emptying trash cans, etc. Responsible for the required paperwork of assigned area or machine(s), examples: logbook entries, or bills of lading, inventory sheets, warehouse tags, etc.

Educational Requirements

High School or equivalent preferred but not required with the following language skills, mathematical skills, and reasoning ability.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other Team Members or customers.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
