Overview
Tool Maker / Precision Machinist – Surface Grinding & Coining (Manufacturing)
At Norwood Medical, we build components for surgical tools and instruments used in life-saving medical procedures around the world. We are looking for a skilled Tool Maker / CNC Machinist to support our precision coining process for critical medical device components. This is a hands-on role where craftsmanship, quality, and accountability matter every day.
Responsibilities- Set up and run surface grinders for coin punches and precision components
- Hold tight tolerances that meet Norwood Medical quality standards
- Set up vertical CNC mills, i.e. Brothers/Robodrill, (tool changes, touch-offs, setups)
- Understand and support the honing process and precision die work used in coining operations, including maintaining surface finish, geometry, and tool integrity for repeatable results
- Perform your own in-process and final inspections
- Own your quality
- Polish parts and tooling to meet cosmetic and functional requirements
- Read prints, make adjustments, and troubleshoot to keep parts in spec
- Work with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to continuously improve our processes
- Follow Norwood's Lean and 5S standards to keep a clean, organized workspace
- Experience as Tool Maker / CNC Machinist or related role
- Experience with surface grinders, coin punching, honing, and precision die work
- Ability to read prints and specifications
- Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
