Chemical Operator - Rotating Shifts (D) role at Primient

This is a 365/24/7 operating plant role requiring weekend and holiday work on a rotating D-Shift schedule. The position involves operating highly automated processes, manual tasks as needed, and collaboration with multiple teams to ensure safe, reliable production of Primient’s plant-based ingredients.

The Primient Process Operator role is not a typical factory job. There is some manual labor, but the role involves solving new problems each shift and performing a range of duties as part of a team. From day one, you will learn key skills toward becoming a skilled technician.

• Assist in the safe operation of our process through a highly automated, state-of-the-art system.
• Prioritize safety; safety rules are always front of mind.
• Operate within a system that may require climbing stairs and ladders; work in varying temperatures.
• Perform manual tasks as needed; may lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
• Follow SOPs and PM task instruction sets; communicate job status to production before and after work.
• Work in a team and also independently as required; maintain clear communications with team members.
• Maintain proficient written and verbal communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel).
• Identify and address safety concerns; ensure compliance with safety rules and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Familiarize with process equipment (pumps, valves, tanks, heat exchangers, centrifuges, ion exchange, filtration, evaporators, crystallizers, dryers, packaging systems) and process analytical devices.
• Perform routine work permits and area lab analyses; troubleshoot equipment and systems as needed.
• Assist I&E technicians and mechanics; request engineering/vendor assistance when required.
• Coordinate with process engineers, production technicians, and quality control to improve efficiency and scheduling.
• Complete housekeeping and area clean-up after work; participate in lockout/tagout for area work.
• Know product, steam, and airflow pathways within the area.

D-Shift rotates regularly: 2 days 6 am–2 pm, 1 day 2 pm–10 pm, 4 days 10 pm–6 am, 2 days off, 1 day 6 am–2 pm, 4 days 2 pm–10 pm, 1 day 10 pm–6 am, 2 days off, 4 days 6 am–2 pm, 2 days 2 pm–10 pm, 4 days off (Repeating every 28 days).

• Starting pay of $27.84/hr plus overtime; opportunity for pay-for-skill progression.
