HVAC Cooling Customer Engineer – Dayton, OH
At Vertiv, a global leader in power and cooling infrastructure, we are looking for an HVAC Cooling Customer Engineer to perform installation, commissioning, scheduled and emergency service on Liebert Air products.
Position SummaryResponsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing Liebert Air products, maintaining customer relationships, and collaborating with area offices and management.
Responsibilities- Perform installations, commissioning, scheduled maintenance, and emergency service on Liebert Air products.
- Maintain excellent rapport with customers, colleagues, and sales representatives.
- Communicate continuously with area/district offices and direct manager.
- Provide on-site and phone assistance to customers.
- Communicate with National Technical Support on equipment issues.
- Perform work according to company guidelines for scheduled maintenance and field change notices.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE, and follow the 14‑hour rule.
- Report all accidents or injuries within 24 hours.
- Accurately report services, timecards, expense and mileage reports, ticket closures, forms, and inventory.
- Maintain customer satisfaction rates and provide first‑time fix whenever possible.
- Maximize productivity, combine service opportunities, and meet or exceed on‑site response times.
- Adhere to company dress code, safety regulations, and startup/escalation processes.
- Perform inventory cycle counts and maintain product inventories.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- HVAC – Certificate Program degree or equivalent experience.
- Six (6) years of military experience in a related field, or equivalent industry experience with EPA refrigerant license.
- Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read line diagrams and blueprints.
- Proficiency with electrical/electronic test equipment and HVAC theory.
- Excellent communication, customer‑service, troubleshooting, safety, organizational, computer, and mechanical aptitude skills.
- Reliable, team‑player, professional, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Stand, walk, use hands and fingers, lift, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb tools and equipment.
- Frequent driving and ability to navigate in extreme cold (100°F), and noisy environments.
- Wear protective equipment as required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, etc.).
- Travel is required; flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, holidays).
- May have on‑call responsibility.
- Valid driver’s license and minimum age of 18.
