Job Description & How to Apply Below

Donoff&Lutz, LLC is seeking an associate attorney to join its growing Social Security disability practice. Although the attorney will support all parts of the firm’s practice and litigation, we are looking for an attorney significantly interested in drafting briefs for federal appeals (in the Southern District of Ohio, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and throughout the country). The appeals primarily concern administrative law.

As the firm receives payments based upon winning appeals, this position will include both a salary and an “eat-what-you-kill” percentage for winning appeals and collecting Equal Access to Justice Act (EAJA) fees. We will pay the market rate EAJA-fee commission for independent attorneys (i.e., attorneys without salaries). We can also supply a significant number of potential appeals. With sufficient work ethic and work quality, compensation could significantly exceed the “market-rate” for early-career attorneys in the Dayton, Ohio area.

We seek attorneys simultaneously committed to helping the “little guy” and to high-quality legal practice. Our attorneys have litigation backgrounds and have foregone the faux prestige of traditional corporate practice; we went to law school to help people, and expect high-quality work when representing them. We think that this position offers interesting work, the opportunity to do good, and the chance for significant earnings.

We offer PTO, reimburse for valet parking, and have 401k matching contributions and profit-sharing distributions. After an initial training period, we can offer hybrid work arrangements for this appellate position.
