Job DescriptionHII, Mission Technologies Division is actively searching for an experienced IT Systems Engineering Analyst to join our team at WPAFB, Dayton, Ohio. The analyst will evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and applications—both commercial and non-commercial—to determine their value for AFRL, USAF, and the DoD complex. The role involves conducting comprehensive analysis of alternatives (AoA), evaluating and comparing IT platforms and software, developing documentation, leading pilot programs, and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of alternatives (AoA)
- Evaluate and compare existing/emerging IT platforms and software
- Compare software solutions to determine viability and effectiveness within AFRL/IZ
- Develop detailed documentation outlining strengths, weaknesses, and potential impact of various technologies
- Develop, lead, and participate in pilot programs of selected technology alternatives
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure successful pilot execution and informed technology decision‑making
- 10 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; or 5 years with a Master’s; or 3 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or 15 years with a high school diploma or equivalent
- Active security clearance preferred, or ability to obtain a Secret‑level clearance (required)
- Preferred work location on‑site at WPAFB; hybrid work possible
- Basic knowledge of government IT acquisition processes, including IT onboarding (ATO/RMF)
- Extensive knowledge of a wide range of commercial and non-commercial technologies
- Knowledge of DoD Architectural Framework (DoDAF) and The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF) preferred
- Understanding of complex systems, integrations, and interactions with other systems
- Strong analytical skills; ability to translate technical information into business terms and present summarized information to leaders and IT stakeholders
