Patient Care Associate

Pain Clinic

7:00 AM to 3:30 PM PRN/Support hours vary per week

Miami Valley Hospital and Miami Valley South Hospital

• Perform patient intake assessments, including vital signs and medical history
• Assisting with pain management treatments under the guidance of physicians and nurses
• Providing compassionate support and care to patients and their families
• Coordinating with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care plans
• Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality
• Educating patients on pain management techniques and lifestyle adjustments

You’ll need a high school diploma or GED.

Before you start, you’ll need to get a BLS CPR certificate
. They can teach you how to do CPR at your orientation too, so you don’t need to do it beforehand.

• Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
• Direct patient care experience within the last five years:
  Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities i.e. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting
• Currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.
• Special Consideration:
  If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is in lieu of the above requirements.

• You can handle doing many things simultaneously, even when people interrupt you, and still be nice.
• You know how to use a computer a little.
• You're good at organizing things.
• You can talk and listen well to others.
