The University of Dayton, a top‑tier Catholic research institution, seeks an exceptional Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team in the School of Education and Health Sciences. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well‑being of our student community while playing a pivotal role in providing comprehensive mental health services.
ResponsibilitiesThe Mental Health Therapist will provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling to students in the schools served. The Therapist will also be responsible for teaching a Social and Emotional program to all classes in the assigned school and assisting principals and education staff in effectively managing challenging behavior.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work, with licensure in the state of Ohio – LPC or LSW
- Minimum of 3 years mental health treatment experience with school‑age children
- Experience working with diverse cultures
- Valid driver's license with low risk driving record
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Independent Social Worker
- Mental health counseling experience in a K‑12 school setting
- Knowledge of Catholic schools and their culture
- Demonstrated successful experience working independently and productively
- Demonstrated successful experience working as part of a team
- Successful demonstration of flexibility in day‑to‑day activities
- Demonstrated successful experience building and sustaining relationships and partnerships with school staff and community
