Overview
The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for supervision of the social services necessary to meet the legal, organizational, medical staff and regulatory agency guidelines. Supervises therapy services, case management, education and discharge planning. Provides guidance and supervision of other social workers, therapists and interns. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans', policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards.
Responsibilities- Provides clinical supervision of other social workers, therapists and interns.
- Provides clinical supervision of individual, group and family sessions for patients as indicated in the supervisor notes.
- Participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and participates in chart reviews for quality assurance.
- Meets weekly or as required by state regulations with clinical staff to meet licensure or certification requirements as evidenced in supervisor notes.
- Supervises the clinical department including discharge and aftercare planning, completion of discharge summaries, completion of clinical documentation and providing guidance to the clinical staff.
- Reviews psychosocial documentation, completion of outcome studies assessments and development of clinical notes.
- Establishes and maintains a supportive/directive leadership style to foster a positive organizational culture, making self available to staff and providing clinical supervision when appropriate.
- Provides Clinical Social Work services, including group, individual and family services with communication that is age-, disability-, and culturally sensitive.
- Fosters cooperation across departmental lines.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Educational / Experience Requirements:
Masters required. Minimum LSW or LPC required. LISW or LPCC highly preferred.

Skills:
Excellent assertive communication skills. A sound leader who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster cooperation across departmental lines and manage information, environmental and fiscal resources to accomplish goals. Good writing and composition skills. Able to organize and prioritize high volume workload. Able to function with minimal supervision. Therapeutic Intervention De-escalation Education required. Ability to maintain overall good work attitude and interact cooperatively and professionally with other staff members.
Basic competency in age/disability/cultural diversity needs of patients served and ability to relate to patients in a manner sensitive to those needs.
Subject to many interruptions. Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically with the atmosphere. May experience disagreeable odors, sights and/or unpredictable patient behavior. Requires spending approximately 85% or more of the time inside a building, which offers protection.
