Overview
Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Senior Research Coordinator to develop, edit, document, and package protocols, consent forms and other regulatory documents for assigned medical centers, and special projects. Responsible for the execution and completion of protocol compliance actions leading to final IRB Approval. Conducts data cleaning and basic statistical analyses and table preparation. Prepares manuscripts and conference presentations.
This position will be in support of the 711 Human Performance Wing, Air and Space Biosciences Division, Performance Resiliency and Optimization (PRO) Initiative support.

HJF s support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
- Support design and implementation of psychological and physiological performance enhancement interventions by using expert skills in human performance research.
- Prepare and maintain test results, technical information, reports, and briefings on progress, and provide evaluation, analysis and recommendations for ongoing and proposed human performance research.
- Have the organizational skills necessary to obtain and manage research data from multiple sources, including electronic data and cloud-based interfaces, in coordination with the chief data scientist.
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks associated with research: obtain and maintain applicable IRB, HRPO, IACUC, IBC, MOU, and data sharing agreements. To include providing audit trails to assure protocol compliance; identify problems and/or inconsistencies and monitor subjects’ progress.
- Perform and complete assignments involving work with diverse and dynamic groups. The contractor shall establish and maintain a constant and effective working relationship within the division, the directorate, 711 HPW, MAJCOMs, Air Staff, academia, business, and industry customers, partners and stakeholders for coordination, support and changes to the scope of assigned work. The contractor shall maintain effective working relationships with principal investigators, program managers, researchers and support staff involved in the acquisition of medical systems and conduct of human performance research.
- Shall have an exceptionally high capacity for working autonomously and performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Provide inherent research support to execute the data management strategy and human subject participation in accordance with the approved IRB protocol. The contractor shall continually assess and report progress toward accomplishment of these efforts.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor s Degree is required. Master of Science degree preferred related to a social science and/or research focused field.
- Minimum of 6-8 years experience required. Shall have at least five (5) years of experience in operational research and evaluation in the area of human performance research.
Skills And Abilities
- Shall have expertise in human performance research and shall be able to support design and implementation of psychological and physiological performance enhancement interventions. No specific expertise in psychology is needed. However, the demonstrated ability to learn and implement a standard research protocol, with minor on the spot modifications is necessary.
- Shall have demonstrated experience in technical writing and communication.
- Must be familiar with Federal and Department of Defense Institutional Review Board activities and Institutional Biosafety Committee actions.
- Must be able to set and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
- Lifting:
Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs. - Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
- The annual salary range for this position is $67,500-$86,700. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
