The technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals. Perform routine tasks such as counting and labeling bottles, answering phones, stocking shelves, and operating the cash register. Other responsibilities include collecting, organizing, and evaluating patient information, managing medication distribution, and providing drug information and education to the patient. The technician must maintain ethical conduct and confidentiality of patient information.

Technicians may establish and maintain patient profiles, troubleshoot insurance claims, and stock and inventory prescription and over‑the‑counter medications. The pharmacy technician will perform these and any other tasks necessary to efficiently and lawfully operate the Pharmacy.

• Assists pharmacist in total prescription filling process; data entry, inventory monitoring, counting, labeling, ordering, stocking, filing, and selling of prescribed and OTC products.
• OTC merchandising.
• Help health care providers and patients in person and by phone; answer questions and requests; refer to pharmacist when appropriate.
• Comply with state and federal drug laws, KHN policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• 2 years retail or inpatient pharmacy technician experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
