Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Finance to join our growing financial institution. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing financial planning, reporting, regulatory compliance, and team development while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive sound financial decisions and sustainable growth.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with forward-thinking leadership and thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support organizational goals
- Oversee asset/liability management (ALM), liquidity management, and capital planning
- Monitor key financial metrics and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and coordinate with internal and external auditors and regulators
- Develop, mentor, and lead the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and controls
- Support strategic initiatives including mergers, acquisitions, and new product offerings as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience within the financial institution industry (banking, credit union, or similar)
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or people leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements within financial services
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
