Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Overview

Ameri Water is a long-established industry leader in the design, manufacture, installation and supply of water purification systems and services for dialysis, industrial and healthcare applications. We are looking for a Controller to join our growing team in Dayton, Ohio!

Responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within our manufacturing operations. Oversee accounting staff.

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track production costs, inventory valuation, and variances.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to functional leaders across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Manage audits and relationships with external auditors.
• Implement process improvements and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience, with at least three (3) years in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Attributes

• Strategic thinker with strong cost accounting and ERP system experience who can partner with operations to improve profitability.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.

Licenses & Certifications

• CPA or CMA, preferred

• Regular exposure to a manufacturing environment including noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
