Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer (CAD Focused)

U.S. Citizens able to gain and maintain a security clearance.
This is a hands‑on role where in addition to CAD modeling you will manufacture and assemble parts, cable harnesses, and support testing and test events.
Grey Cliff Industries is looking for an entry‑level mechanical engineer with strong CAD skills to support ongoing hardware development efforts.
This role is hands‑on and onsite in Dayton. You will work directly on the design and build of unmanned systems and supporting electronics.
Primary Responsibilities:- Design electronic enclosures for embedded systems
- Mechanical layout and packaging for UAV and other UXV platforms
- Produce detailed, manufacturable CAD models and drawings
- Support rapid prototyping and design iteration
- Assist with physical assembly and system integration
- Strong CAD proficiency (Fusion 360, Solid Works, or similar)
- Understanding of tolerances, fasteners, and enclosure design
- Ability to work full‑time onsite in Dayton, Ohio
- Ability to travel and work in remote locations
- Ability to work offsite in rugged remote locations
- Ability to work on and near water to include boat ramps, small dock spaces, and on small watercraft
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Exposure to UAVs, robotics, or unmanned systems
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping
- Interest in hands‑on hardware development
Small team environment with direct involvement in real hardware programs.
