Research Scientist, Systems Engineer
Overview
The individual in this position will be responsible for developing and solving research problems requiring computer science and a complex understanding of physiology and biomechanics to produce biomechanical models relating to operational scenarios. Notably, experimental data will be input into biomechanics models in order to predict forces and strains the warfighter faces in aerospace operations. The models will ultimately be used to predict the risk of injury.
WhatYou Will Do
The successful candidate will be able to leverage advanced data analytics, visualization and modeling to create biomechanics models that can predict injury.
Programming experience, in languages commonly used in bioinformatics and computational biology (i.e. R, Python, Mat Lab, etc) is required. The ability to move between multiple projects and accomplish work in a self-directed fashion in a complex teaming of efforts is essential for this role.
What Qualifications You Will Bring- Ph.D. in biophysics, biostatistics, biomechanical engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant industry and/or academic experience, or a combination of both.
- Proficiency in generating biomechanical models in support of biology/physiology.
- Demonstrable experience in essential programming languages
- Must be proficient in technical writing and presentations
- Excellent communication skills and organization
- This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship

ITAR RequirementThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
