** Substation Design Engineer
** The ideal candidate will live in Dayton, Ohio, or be willing to relocate.  We offer a competitive salary and generous starting paid time off of 22 days each year.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Perform detailed design of all or parts of 12kV through 345kV substations consisting of physical layouts, one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
* Produce detailed engineering design packages in accordance with AES Ohio and relevant industry standards (IEEE, NERC, etc.).
* Prepare procurement specifications for material and services, evaluate proposals, and work with Purchasing to obtain purchase orders.
* Provide engineering support to field crews on construction and maintenance activities.
* Assist in the planning, design, and construction management of substation projects.
* Maintain and optimize internal design standards and engineering databases.
* Assist in after-hours storm restoration and long duration customer outages as required.
** Qualifications
* * Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
** Preferred Skills & Abilities
*** Experience with Bentley Micro Station or similar CAD software.
* Passing grade on the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
* Familiarity with and application of electrical substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, disconnect switches, relays, etc.)
* Ability to work safely and integrate safety into engineering designs.
