Position Summary:

The Deputy Design Engineering Execution Lead serves as the technical integrator and second-in-command for the Design Engineering function supporting advanced product development programs. This role ensures engineering execution aligns with program cost, schedule, risk, and integration objectives across multiple technical disciplines. The Deputy partners directly with Engineering Leadership, Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Business Operations to drive disciplined, predictable technical execution in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support and oversee technical execution across mechanical, electrical, and embedded system development efforts
• Ensure engineering outputs align with program milestones and delivery commitments
• Identify and resolve cross-functional technical dependencies before they impact cost or schedule
• Lead internal design reviews and technical readiness assessments
• Drive risk identification and mitigation planning (technical, integration, and qualification risks)
• Coordinate interface definition and configuration control across hardware and software elements
• Support transition from development to production, qualification, and field deployment
• Partner with Program Management to ensure technical scope aligns with approved plans
• Support customer technical engagements and briefings
• Lead technical problem resolution during integration, testing, and qualification phases
• Provide delegated leadership when the Design Engineering Execution Lead is unavailable

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in engineering product development
• Experience leading or supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong understanding of system integration challenges across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
• Experience supporting testing and qualification efforts (environmental, structural, thermal, electrical, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical issues across teams
• Active Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in defense or PNT product development
• Experience working in regulated or standards-driven environments
• Familiarity with structured program execution frameworks
• Experience with prototype development, test infrastructure, or manufacturing transition
