** AV is seeking a Research Scientist to join our growing team at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, you will support cutting-edge research within the Human Performance Directorate of the 711th Human Performance Wing, contributing to the Air Force's mission to optimize human performance in demanding aerospace environments.
** What You Will Do
*** Identify, integrate, and test hardware and software systems that enable advanced aerospace physiology research.
* Support a variety of biomechanical, biometric, and cognitive data collection and analysis efforts.
* Troubleshoot and maintain experimental equipment, ensuring reliable data acquisition and system functionality.
* Collaborate effectively with human subjects, government researchers, and industry partners to support ongoing studies and research initiatives.
* Document research protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical findings to support project deliverables.
** What Qualifications You Will Bring
*** This position is working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
* Master's degree in a related scientific, engineering, or health-focused field
* 5 years of relevant research or industry experience.
* Hands-on experience acquiring, installing, and maintaining test equipment to meet specific project or research requirements.
* Proven experience in the collection, management, and analysis of large datasets, including working with data communication protocols and analysis pipelines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience authoring reports, SOPs, and test documentation.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment.
* Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience working with human subjects in research or clinical settings.
* Programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar).
* Experience with CAD modeling or design for laboratory setups and experimental systems.
