Allient Inc. is currently seeking Engineering Technician Co‑Op's to join our team in Dayton, Ohio!

The Engineering Co‑Op Technician works on assignments to support the organization’s need to design, validate, and release new products and/or product improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Becomes familiar with and follows all Engineering procedures and processes.
  • Utilizes the Engineering software that is supplied by Globe Motors.
  • Assists with some project management responsibilities.
  • Completes Engineering calculations typical of a Project Engineer.
  • Participates in customer/vendor meetings and presentations.
  • Assists lab technicians in their daily work assignments when necessary.
  • Assists Drafting/Designers in their daily work assignments as needed.
  • Develops spreadsheets/programs for use in the Engineering department.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be an actively enrolled student having completed 2 years of education in a 4-year minimum technical program at an accredited institution.
  • Cumulative grade point average should meet or exceed a 2.5/4.0 and a semester average of 2.75/4.0 as well.
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
