What You Will Be Doing as a Journeyman Electrical Engineer- Develop and update wiring diagrams, pin‑outs, and cable assemblies for Nomad processing cards, crypto devices, and SATCOM interfaces
- Perform hardware integration, wiring design, and schematic documentation to support the Phalanx Griffon (PG) Major Release 2 project
- Conduct load analyses and circuit protection designs that comply with MIL-STD-704/1275 and platform SWaP‑C power‑quality requirements
- Assemble and troubleshoot PG line‑replaceable units in the lab environment; perform continuity checks, power‑on verification, and firmware updates
- Instrument and operate test setups using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers; document test results for design‑to‑test traceability
- Assist senior engineers with vibration, thermal, and EMI/EMC pre‑qualification tests (MIL-STD-810/461), capturing red‑lines and supporting corrective actions
- Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Bills of Material (BOM), and part‑number trees within digital engineering environments such as CAMEO/SysML and Windchill
- Generate test procedures, validation reports, and engineering change packages for flight‑test readiness
- Collaborate with Systems, Software, and Test teams to resolve integration issues and support product delivery
- Coordinate with platform SPOs/OEMs on connector standards, grounding schemes, and aircraft power‑bus impacts
- Must‑Haves: U.S. Citizenship (due to government contract requirements)
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- High School Diploma with 15 years of directly related experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with 10 years of relevant experience in a technical/professional discipline
- 10–15 years of directly related experience in the field, with at least 3 years in the DoD
- Background in the aerospace or defense industry, specifically in electrical engineering
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-704/1275 power and MIL-STD-461 EMI/EMC standards
- Knowledge of aerospace wiring best practices (38999/26482, AS50881)
- Proficient in reading and modifying schematics using E‑CAD tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or similar
- Experienced in lab instrumentation use and fault isolation techniques
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills
- Prior work on airborne networking, SATCOM, crypto, or cross‑domain hardware
- Exposure to Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital‑thread environments
- Experience supporting configuration audits, RMF hardware documentation, or safety‑of‑flight packages
- IPC/WHMA‑620 or NASA-STD‑8739 wire‑harness certification
