Job DescriptionHII – Mission Technologies seeks an experienced Electromagnetic Environment Effect (EEE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs, assisting with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL‑HDBK‑516 and the AF Life‑Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes as prescribed by AFMCI 63‑1201.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Evaluate MIL‑HDBK‑516 Section 13 on ACAT I or equivalent aircraft development programs, including direct & indirect lightning susceptibility, conducted & radiated emission susceptibility, transient susceptibility, electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic pulses, electrical bonding & grounding, hazards to personnel, fuel & ordnance, and EEE safety margins for electro‑explosive devices.
- Support development and review of documentation required by DoDI 5000.02.
- Develop requirements, allocate and verify them.
- Review & evaluate weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
- Gather and develop technical and business data to build program briefs and present as required.
- Participate in program meetings, working groups, and technical & business reviews.
- Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support development of contract and documentation changes and updates.
- Assist in source selection in a technical advisory role.
- 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelors degree (13 years with Masters, 10 years with PhD/J.D., or High School Diploma plus 19 years).
- 10 years of broad, proven experience in government or industry leadership on major ACAT I aircraft development programs with at least 2 years SAP experience.
- Experience in RF, high‑power microwaves, communication equipment, antenna fundamentals, direct and indirect lightning, high‑altitude electromagnetic pulse, shielding, attenuation, and related statistical methods.
- Knowledge of Mil STD 3032, Do‑160, MIL‑STD 461, and MIL‑STD 464.
- Ability to teach basic electromagnetic topics.
- Expert knowledge of the EEE airworthiness certification process.
- Five years of experience performing EEE airworthiness evaluations and lab/test experience.
- Experience with engineering principles, criteria, and procedures applicable to Air Force systems and procurement activities.
- Experience with Low Observables.
- Basic radar signal processing.
- Strong ability to read and interpret government requirements.
- Knowledge of electromagnetic airworthiness and HEMP testing.
- Experience with Bayesian statistics.
- Excel and Word proficiency.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and technical experts.
