Roles & Responsibilities- Perform design and development of complex high‑speed digital circuit card assemblies integrating FPGAs and microprocessors through high‑speed serial networks.
- Take designs from concept through schematic capture, layout, assembly, debug, and production test.
- Collaborate with peers and other engineering disciplines in the planning, design, and prototyping of complex digital systems.
- Identify and implement risk reduction activities for your projects.
- Interface with vendors and contractors.
- Advise others through design reviews and implementation of industry best practices.
- Work under general direction to independently determine and develop viable solutions.
- Define system and CCA‑level specifications from dynamic, loose requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of experience.
- Full custom circuit card design cycle (concept through production) experience involving FPGAs, DDR memory, high‑speed serdes, and microprocessors.
- Experience defining interfaces with software teams for microprocessors/microcontrollers.
- Hands‑on use of laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, DMM, BERT scopes, network analyzers, and signal analyzers.
- Ability to solder and modify prototypes to prove a working design.
- Ability to create test plans and assembly instructions.
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary level of US Government security clearance per customer requirements.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Schematic capture and layout using Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools.
- High‑speed digital signal integrity simulation using Hyperlynx, HFSS, or ADS.
- Experience developing embedded software and software using C, C++.
- Experience RTL development using System Verilog.
- Familiarity with AMD FPGAs and design tools.
- Project leadership.
