Tri Star Career Compact Law and Public Safety Instructor

Job Objective:
Creates, plans, implements and evaluates instruction within the Criminal Justice curriculum designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels for 11th and 12th grade students. Courses currently consist of Criminal Law & Court System, Police Work & Public Safety, Investigations & Forensics, and Homeland Security. Assists students with work-based learning opportunities as well as with post-secondary placement.

Encourages parental, business and community involvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Possess, or ability to obtain, a valid Ohio teaching license in Criminal Justice/Public Safety (Career Technical Licensure).

* Minimum of five years of experience in the field of criminal justice/public safety.

* Ability to successfully teach courses in the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce career field specifically within the Law & Public Safety pathway.

* Knowledge and/or certifications should include but not limited to: NIMS, APCO, OSHA, CPR, Stop the Bleed, etc.

* Possess, or ability to obtain, van and/or bus driver certification.

* A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

* Complies with drug-free workplace rules and policies.

* Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.

* Willingness to work/assist with an advisory group.

* Willingness to be involved in the school improvement process.

* Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.
