Provides supplemental aids and services, including instruction in Braille to enable students who have a visual disability to progress in the general curriculum and advance appropriately toward attaining annual IEP goals.
Salary and BenefitsSalary Range: $60,000 to $85,000, prorated based upon days, dependent on educational experience and areas of expertise, may be negotiated.

Date available: 2025-26 School Year
Days: Full or Part time, up to 5 days per week
Qualifications- Ohio Department of Education Teacher’s Certification / Licensure in Vision Impairments
- Training and experience in teaching students with Vision Impairments and working effectively with educators and families
- Satisfactory result of BCI/FBI background checks
- Provides instruction and consultation services to VI students
- Provides consultation to district staff and families
- Attends IEP meetings
- Selects and develops instructional materials and equipment
- Serves as a liaison between district staff and other agencies
- Serves as a resource to staff on issues related to vision impairments
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of students
- Evaluates student progress
- Keeps abreast of techniques and innovations in the assigned position via attendance and pertinent training
- Responds constructively to supervision
- Participates in team meetings and staff development
- Manages time to accomplish duties and implements strategies to deal with completing work priorities
- Maintains records and collects outcome results
- Develops and follows an accurate schedule of services
- Completes reports and other documents as needed
- Demonstrates professionalism and maintains a positive work attitude
- Effectively uses verbal, nonverbal, writing, and listening skills
- Completes paperwork accurately, verifies and correctly enters data and computer documentation
- Organizes tasks and manages time effectively
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual
