SUMMARY

HEAPY is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to support our marketing team across a wide range of design needs. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow, learn industry-standard tools, and contribute to real projects that shape the HEAPY brand. This position will work on everything from event materials to social graphics to video support, always with guidance and room to develop your craft.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of first year in Graphic Design education or similar discipline.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign), Presentation Tools (PowerPoint), and Digital Design Tools (such as Adobe Express).
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, design fundamentals, and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Understanding of free images verses copyright images.
  • Familiarity with RGB/CMYK, color profiles, file optimization, and organized file management.
  • Ability to prepare assets for print and digital environments.
  • Clearly demonstrated communication skills and the ability to take feedback constructively.
  • A reputation for being highly organized, deadline-driven, and committed to producing high-quality work.
PREFERRED
  • Experience in Photoshop and In Design
  • Basic HTML/CSS or Word Press experience.
  • Video or motion skills using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Rush, or Premiere Pro.
  • Photography experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creates marketing materials including one-pagers, event collateral, internal communications, and digital assets that align with the HEAPY brand.
  • Supports video projects through file organization, basic editing, and on-site assistance or coordination with external video partners.
  • Designs social media graphics and other digital content using tools like Canva, Adobe InDesign or Adobe Express.
  • Manages files responsibly, understanding the difference between free-use and copyrighted images, and ensuring proper version control.
  • Prepares assets for both print and digital use, optimizing color profiles, formats, and layouts.
  • Assists functional teams with miscellaneous design requests and helps maintain brand consistency across all materials.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested/needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to remain sedentary at a workstation for long periods of time while operating a keyboard and using a computer screen.
  • Ability to operate a mouse, stylus, or similar tool to make adjustments on electronic visuals.
  • Ability to see details of objects on a screen, including differences in colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Ability to communicate in person, electronically, and via phone with other individuals.
  • Possession of reliable transportation to and from project sites/office.
  • Capable of working in physical positions that may include maneuvering self into different positions traditionally achieved by kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.
  • Ability to move, transport, or position items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to apply established protocols and practices in a timely manner. and follow safety guidelines for both company and clients.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and evaluate information related to graphic design and marketing initiatives (such as visual hierarchies, copyrighted material, etc.).
