Hvac​/Plumbing Estimator

Responsibilities and Duties

• Job takeoffs and pricing.
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Stay current with all estimating software and attend training as needed and/or required.
• Work with VP of Estimating on estimating database development and maintenance.
• Work with VP of Estimating to develop estimating spreadsheets.
• Ensure smooth and timely project turnover from Estimating to Project Management.
• Work with vendors and subcontractors to secure scopes and final pricing, including calling and/or meeting with them to discuss scope of work.
• Clearly write scope letters.
• Lead and finalize job estimates.
• All other duties as assigned.

• 10 years commercial experience in plumbing or HVAC estimation or completion of an approved apprenticeship program and 3 years’ experience as a Journeyman.
• 10 years prior estimating experience.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation.
• Good math ability.
• Good computer skills (knowledgeable with Microsoft Excel).
• Detail oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Estimation and/or Quicken experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate on a professional level in front of peers, co‑workers and customers.
• Ability to conduct scope reviews with clients/customers.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Journeyman Plumber license or equivalent experience.
• Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent experience.

• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Capable of job site tours, climbing ladders and operating equipment.

• Valid Driver’s License.
