The Assistant Director for Esports and Campus Activities provides operational management and coordination for the university’s Esports program and departmental marketing initiatives. Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Activities, this role serves as the primary coach for competitive gaming, manages the esports arena’s technical needs, and coordinates the daily workflow of the student marketing assistant. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with recruitment of student gamers, the hands-on execution of esports tournaments, and supports on-site coordination for designated campus events.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with competitive esports.
- Experience with PC gaming hardware, Discord server management, and streaming software (OBS).
- Mastery of written and verbal communications.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including regular evenings and weekends for tournaments and event supervision.
- Experience coaching a competitive esports team.
- Direct experience in competitive esports operations, live event production (broadcasting), or streaming (e.g., Twitch, OBS, vMix)
- Existing relationships with collegiate esports leagues or industry partners
- Experience with marketing, branding, and promotion of events.
- Demonstrated successful collaboration with campus partners.
- Experience with recruitment of collegiate esports players.
- Mastery of oral communications.
