EVS Assistant Shift Manager

Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway is inviting applications for the EVS Assistant Shift Manager position. This role is part of our entertainment division and involves supervising staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service during casino operations.

• Supervise staff and oversee daily management of a designated shift, supporting operational goals and monitoring performance and profit objectives.
• Adhere to scheduling, coordinating with management on scheduling concerns with attention to guest satisfaction.
• Assist in the budget process for the department, providing recommendations, supporting compliance with departmental budget initiatives, and reporting budget concerns to management.
• Promote and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs, ensuring all team members follow these standards and addressing issues as they arise.
• Ensure day‑to‑day cleaning of the casino property meets established standards on the shift, and conduct deep‑cleaning activities with minimal impact on operations.
• Inspect completed work and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain supply par levels per standard operating procedures on the shift, recommending needed supplies and equipment.
• Assist in ordering all supplies and equipment inventory.
• Ensure OSHA standards and regulatory compliance are followed, reporting potential issues to management.
• Guarantee that the department has all necessary tools and equipment in working order.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in related field or two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical reading and interpretation skills for business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Proficient writing of reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards.
• Physical ability to perform the job duties of all EVS team members during emergencies.
• Capability to operate standard EVS equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, computers, copy machines, mops, brooms, and hand‑held radios.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues, resolving problems and conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.

Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
