Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position is based in Dayton, Ohio, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will excel in cash applications and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately apply incoming payments, including checks, wire transfers, and credit card transactions, to customer accounts on a daily basis.

- Investigate and resolve issues related to unapplied cash, ensuring discrepancies are addressed promptly and effectively.

- Collaborate with teams across accounts receivable, billing, and collections to streamline cash application processes.

- Generate reports on cash application metrics, including aging and unapplied balances, to provide actionable insights.

- Maintain detailed documentation and support month-end and year-end closing activities.

- Contribute to system updates and process improvements to enhance efficiency in cash applications.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls and adhere to accounting standards and best practices. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, or general accounting roles.

- Familiarity with cash management processes and billing functions.

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar platforms.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in financial matters.
