Overview
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school in Dawlish. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:45pm, supporting a pupil throughout the school day.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs exhibiting challenging behaviour.
- Assist with quiet time, personal space, emotional regulation, sensory play and clear, calm spoken communication.
- Build a trusting relationship and respond sensitively to the child’s individual needs while maintaining clear boundaries and routines.
- Highly empathetic, resilient and adaptable.
- Experience working with SEND children and ability to build trusting relationships.
- Clear communication skills and ability to maintain routines and boundaries.
