Scientist in Integrated Modelling of Risk Development in Global Change 80 – 100% (f/m/d)

You will further develop probabilistic risk models and combine them with socio‑economic scenarios for Switzerland (SSP-CH) with the aim of quantifying the development of risk in global and societal change. In doing so, you will lay the foundation for quantitatively assessing the impact of adaptation measures. You will publish your findings in national and international scientific as well as practical journals and present them at national and international conferences.

We attach great importance to transdisciplinary research, which is why you will organise and lead workshops with stakeholders to anchor the methodology in practice.

You hold a PhD in natural and/or social sciences and have substantial experiences in process modelling in the context of global change. You have excellent knowledge of spatial information processing with GIS and very good programming skills (Python). You enjoy working with statistical models and speak at least one of Switzerland's national languages, as well as being fluent in spoken and written English.

Finally, you appreciate working in an extremely interesting and attractive position with a young, dynamic team, on a highly topical issue in the beautiful holiday region of Davos‑Klosters.

The Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research is concerned with the use, development and protection of natural and urban spaces.
