Dr. Sebastian Calonico in the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Davis, wishes to employ a 100%-time Postdoc who will contribute to several projects employing Regression Discontinuity Designs (RDD) and related causal inference models, with a strong emphasis on advancing statistical methodology.
The project presents significant methodological challenges, including: (i) estimating heterogeneous effects using RDD and causal machine learning methods; (ii) modeling dynamic longitudinal health data; and (iii) developing and refining statistical models and tools to address adherence and censoring.
The postdoctoral researcher will play a critical role in formally developing, extending, and implementing statistical methodologies suited for this context, working closely with an interdisciplinary research team and contributing to broader scientific projects. The ideal candidate should thus have formal training in statistical theory, econometrics, and/or other quantitative research tools.
Application materials for this Postdoctoral position should include a cover letter, vitae/resume, a writing sample, an authorization to release information form, and contact information for three references. This recruitment will have an initial review date; however, the position will remain open until filled. Only completed applications will be reviewed. Applicants should submit their application and supporting materials via our online recruitment system (
