The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and marketing throughout the Product Lifecycle. This role involves gathering and prioritizing product and customer needs, defining product visions that align with strategic goals, collaborating closely with Project Management to develop new products, and partnering with Sales and Marketing to launch products and ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are achieved.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the product market.
- Attend conventions, trade shows, sales meetings, and training programs.
- Develop relationships with key Opinion Leaders and Industry Experts.
- Identify competitor activities and develop strategies to address them.
- Identify market opportunities for existing and new products.
- Define the strategy and roadmap for existing and new products.
- Work closely with Project Management to deliver products that meet market needs.
- Develop the core positioning and messaging for specific products.
- Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
- Provide reports to management, including business plans and sales forecasts for specific products.
- Develop and execute strategic launch plans for updates to existing products and new products.
- Coordinate the development of marketing tools and activities such as brochures, training materials, slide decks, internet sites, branding guidelines, promotions, and more.
- Visit customer accounts and conduct well‑organized product presentations.
- Coordinate White Papers and studies pertaining to product behavior and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Life Sciences field and 4-6 years of experience in Product and/or Project Management.
- Experience as a Product Manager preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Product Lifecycle.
- Previous experience in the medical device or medical products industry.
- Prior experience with diagnostics reagents or instrumentation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of medical devices and reagents.
- Knowledge of FDA and ISO Quality System Regulations (cGMP) pertaining to medical devices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficient in PowerPoint or other presentation software.
- Effective communication and analytical skills.
- Strong planning and organization skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Exceptional customer service and professionalism.
- Ability to travel for periods of up to one week.
- Experience in product positioning, branding, and translation of science into marketing messages.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information.
- Ability to learn new and existing instrumentation and technology.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- AIPMM Certification (or similar) preferred.
This is an onsite position, may have capacity to move to a hybrid role down the line.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davis, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $53.00 - $75.00/hr.
