The current base pay range is $202,200 - $338,300. Off-scale salaries and other components of pay may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications and experience.

Associate/Full Professor of Wildlife Health
SALARY:
The current base pay range is $202,200 - $338,300. Off-scale salaries and other components of pay may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications and experience.
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Veterinarian with expertise in free-ranging wildlife population health and conservation.
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in leading national and international wildlife health non-governmental organizations and programs, including fiscal management and strategic planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in a collegial team atmosphere.
- Teaching and mentoring experience in both didactic and field settings.
Preferred qualifications (not required)
- Advanced degree (MS and/or PhD) preferred.
- Board certification in ACZM or ACVPM preferred.
- Highest consideration given to applicants with an established programmatic management and research focus in wildlife health.
- Administration:
Serve as the Director of the Karen
C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center (WHC), providing general oversight and supervision of Directors of multiple programs and projects (e.g., Sea Doc Society, Gorilla Doctors, Oiled Wildlife Care Network, California Carnivore project). The Directorship represents ~25% time and a renewable five-year appointment. Roles and responsibilities for the WHC Director are available at the provided link. - Teaching:
Deliver lectures and laboratories in the DVM curriculum focused on free-ranging wildlife health and conservation; lead externship and residency training programs; participate in graduate programs (MS, PhD, MPVM). - Research:
Develop an applied, conservation-oriented research program in wildlife health; lead research projects involving veterinary students, residents, and graduate students; publish results in professional journals. - Service:
Engage in university and public service through committees, professional organizations, continuing education, and other activities. - Professional Competence:
Advance the discipline of free-ranging wildlife health locally, nationally, and internationally; establish a reputation for excellence in wildlife health.
