Temporary positions are anticipated for instructors to teach courses in areas such as Animal Ethics, Animal Behavior, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Aquaculture, Introductory Animal Science, Molecular Biology Laboratory Techniques.
A list of the courses that may be available during 2025 - 2026 academic year are included. It is possible that courses may be added to or deleted from this list as the year progresses.

Appointment Dates
Several appointments are made each year. The number of courses assigned for each appointment may vary depending on type of course and percentage of appointment. Service dates are:
Fall Quarter 2025:
September 22 - December 12
Winter Quarter 2026:
January 2 - March 20
Spring Quarter 2026:
March 26 - June 11
Reappointment is possible upon demonstrated competence and based on established criteria.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach one or more lecture courses in the Animal Science major. Teaching may also involve special observational projects or guest speakers.

The Davis campus, third oldest in the ten-campus University of California system, offers a full range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. The city of Davis is a progressive university town of 65,622 located in the Sacramento Valley, 72 miles northeast of San Francisco and 15 miles west of Sacramento, California's capital.
Salary and Appointment Level
Commensurate with experience and course assignment.

(a) rigorous and intellectually challenging course content, and
(b) the ability to present that material effectively, i.e., stimulating interest in and
critical thought regarding the subject matter.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)Appropriate professional degree, minimum requirement is Masters at time of appointment in Animal Science or equivalent discipline.

- A developing record of scholarly or professional achievement in an area of expertise related to a subject area described in this announcement.
