Adjunct Spanish Instructor

Job Summary / Basic FunctionPart‑time adjunct instructor of Spanish to teach one or two lower‑division (1000 and 2000 level) language and culture per semester as needed. To deliver instruction face‑to‑face to University students, and collaborate with other lower‑division Spanish instructors. Sections of this course may be offered on the Davis campus or Ogden campus.
A complete syllabus is provided to all instructors. Instructors follow the course scope‑and‑sequence and develop lesson plans working toward unit and course assessment.
This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Spanish or related field. One year of language teaching experience at the college level.
Preferred QualificationsEvidence of at least Advanced High in the ACTFL proficiency scale.

Physical Requirements of this PositionLight work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Use of arm and/or leg controls requiring exertion of forces greater than sedentary work.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
