The Department of Design announces a temporary lecturer position to teach a section of DES 40C, during Spring 2026 quarter.

Design for Aesthetics & Experience.
Course
Description:
Global historical survey of design's engagement with changing notions of aesthetics and experience. Relates transformations in the theory, production, and reception of all aspects of design (objects, landscapes, architectures, etc.) to larger cultural, social, and political contexts.
Design at UC Davis is unique within the University of California system and presents itself as a global model for design education with a research focus.
Applicants must have professional experience in a design field related to the curriculum.

Spring Quarter:
March 26th - June 11, 2026.
Qualifications:
Appropriate professional degree (e.g., terminal degree such as PhD, MFA, or MArch; or other relevant graduate degree such as MDes and MA), or equivalent training and professional experience.
Salary and Appointment Level: Commensurate with degree and experience.
