Brief Position Summary

The Rebate Analyst Level II is responsible for taking a lead role in overseeing the training of associates, providing leadership support, as well as analyzing, maintaining, processing, validating, submitting for payment, and reconciling discrepancies for all customer rebates.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Track rebate programs with varying terms and conditions for several MSC customers.
  • Collaborate with Contracts Compliance and Legal teams to review expiring rebates and new rebates, adjusting the rebate model as needed to reflect latest terms and conditions.
  • Interpret and understand contract terms as they relate to compliance requirements and rebate payment parameters.
  • Build and maintain rebate models with customer sales and payment data, aligning accruals with the accounting ledger.
  • Manually calculate rebate programs that cannot be maintained in the rebate model.
  • Monthly tests on large rebate customers to analyze and validate accrual adjustments.
  • Update detailed rebate accrual documents and provide to Financial Reporting to ensure rebate costs are reflected in financial results.
  • Process customer payments, review receivables balances, prepare check requests and supporting communications to customers.
  • Create and oversee the rebate forecast process.
  • Lead quarterly finance rebate meetings, presenting status and forecast of rebates.
  • Manage rebate hold processes based on accounts receivable status.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to streamline or improve processes.
  • Work cross-functionally to improve processes within the Rebate Team and provide visibility to the Sales Team on rebate issues.
  • Communicate results, guidance, and strategies related to analysis at various levels within MSC.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries related to customer accruals, sales information, rebate status, and rebate payment history.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and train associates on existing and new processes.
  • Collaborate with the Internal Audit Team on rebate process projects and testing.
  • Foster MSC culture within the department and across the company to support MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.
  • Lead and/or participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Accounting or Finance)
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience required.
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Expert proficiency with Excel and Tableau, Alteryx, Business Objects.
  • Strong analytical ability and initiative; ability to retrieve, manage, and interpret data quickly.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle and SQL database queries and reporting.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
Other Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
  • This position may require access to ITAR information and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Compensation

Compensation starting at $63,420 - $99,660 depending on experience. The salary range is based on similar roles in comparable industries and varies with cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education, requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
