Job Overview

The Compression System & Services North America - Environmental, Health & Safety Director is a critical regional leadership role which drives the strategy and implements a best in class safety and sustainability culture. This position will collaborate with the executive leadership team and provide support to our operational teams and Plant and Services EH&S Leaders in leading and supporting EHS activities, programs, and incident prevention activities at their location(s) while ensuring compliance with Ingersoll Rand processes, local, state, and national requirements.

This position will also be responsible for creating and implementing safety and sustainability programs, policies, training, and procedures which results in building a positive, engaging and inclusive safety culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds positive, collaborative relationships at all levels of the 59 CSS North America Manufacturing, Service, RD and Warehouse sites in creation of a zero incident culture which results in attainment of EHS goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates applicable EHS policies, procedures, training, auditing, reporting and tracking processes in compliance with Ingersoll Rand requirements; local; state; and federal rules and regulations.
  • Validates, via auditing data entry and uses established tools & processes to ensure data accuracy, analyzes trends and delivers reports in a timely manner including incident reporting, auditing, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information. Leads efforts in continuous process improvement across the entire Region.
  • Implements the contactor management and visitor security/safety program.
  • Audit hazardous waste and non-hazardous materials for verification to the Ingersoll Rand and local requirements. Manages all environmental risks including waste, water and air emissions to ensure all sites are in compliance with applicable legal obligations and permit requirements.
  • Involvement in the EHS due diligence process and integration of Ingersoll Rand standards for new acquisitions.
  • Lead and advise incident, injury and near miss reporting. Insure root cause analysis on incidents and injuries to determine specific actions needed to prevent their reoccurrence.
  • Drive recognition of non-standard tasks to uncover risks and identify corrective actions.
  • Coach/mentor CSS NA Site Leaders and local EH&S professionals on safe work practices, hazard identification and risk management including establishing and leading a safety committee.
