Where Is The Work

On‑Site (5 days) in Davidson, NC.

Job Summary

This role leads the development of standardized supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) architecture, OT network architecture and security, OT data architecture, AI strategy, and more across all plants globally. You will collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture teams to drive value and contribute to the Ignition Council.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with SBUs globally to develop and deploy Ignition applications.
  • Serve as expert defining architecture, performance optimization, and security within Ignition environments.
  • Facilitate workshops, training, and design reviews.
  • Promote reuse of Ignition modules and libraries.
  • Lead implementation of OEE tracking systems using Ignition modules.
  • Contribute to the Ignition Council and share field experience.
  • Architect and deliver scalable, secure, maintainable Ignition‑based solutions.
  • Lead OT data architecture aligned to ISA‑95/88 standards.
  • Lead OT network architecture and plant asset connectivity.
  • Lead AI applications within manufacturing operations.
  • Lead OT resiliency and rationalization of factory floor equipment.
  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture teams for compliance.
  • Establish and enforce development standards, documentation, and code review.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide thought leadership.
  • Lead engineering principles through training and project reviews.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic external partner relationships.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years in industrial automation/OT environments.
  • 3+ years hands‑on experience with Ignition.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and automation systems.
  • Experience designing and deploying Ignition applications in production.
  • Experience delivering shared frameworks across business units or sites.
  • Strong understanding of industrial network protocols and PLC integration.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, SQL within Ignition ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated project management acumen.
  • Strategic thinking, thought leadership, strong results orientation.
  • Deep vendor knowledge in manufacturing and automation markets.
  • Deep controls expertise across PLC, HMI & SCADA systems.
  • Deep knowledge of IIoT and sensor technology.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics (AI, machine learning).
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Self‑motivated team player.
  • Ability to work effectively in multiple cultural regions.
  • Travel required, average 20%.
  • Preferred:
    Ignition Gold Certified.
  • Experience with Ignition council or industry collaboration.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Dev Ops, Git, deployment automation in OT.
  • Experience with Linux, SSH, AWS.
  • Familiarity with Docker or cloud/edge computing in industrial settings.
Compensation

Base Pay Range: $130,000 – $170,000 (U.S. national averages). Total compensation will include commission/incentive plan.
