The internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10‑week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization. The Customer Experience Intern will support the Process and Automation team in driving measurable improvements to customer and employee experience through AI‑enabled automation.

This role offers hands‑on experience building intelligent workflows, agents, and solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and related AI tools. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to identify process gaps, design automations, and enable adoption across the organization.

• Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
• Gain industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
• Develop skills needed for a career in industrial distribution.
• Support assigned manager with business project work.
• Map current and future state workflows.
• Help identify, research, build (Proof of Concept), support AI Agents and automation where needed.
• Drive adoption through enablement of existing and new tools.
• Present intern project results to business leaders.
• Perform independent research.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships.
• Provide business assistance to various groups within the Customer Experience CX departments.
• Work cross‑functionally with Sales Ops, IT, PMO and other business function teams.
• Learn & foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
• Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

• High School diploma required.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Excellent academic record.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
• Positive, high‑energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.

• Area of study in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering preferred. Focus areas of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Human‑Computer Interaction.

• A valid driver's license may be required.
• This position may require access to International Traffic.

Starting at $22/hr depending on candidate location and experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
