The internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.

• Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
• Gain industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
• Develop skills needed for a career in industrial distribution.
• Support assigned manager with business project work.
• Present intern project results to business leaders.
• Perform independent research.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships.
• Provide business assistance to various groups within the Metalworking Business unit departments.
• Work cross-functionally with Metalworking Specialist teams.
• Foster the MSC culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
• Assist in the development of a centralized, searchable database of productivity solutions.
• Further enable our Metalworking Specialist and Solutions teams to quickly identify relevant solutions in the field.
• Improve customer engagement through efficient and timely delivery of productivity solutions.
• Learn and foster the MSC culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.

• High School diploma required.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Excellent academic record.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
• Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.

• Area of study in Analytics, Business Administration or IT preferred.

• A valid driver's license may be required.
• This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

Starting at $22/hr depending on candidate location and experience. The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
