Job Description & How to Apply Below
I'm looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving problems, keeping production running, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
If you’re the type of engineer who likes getting stuck in, fault-finding electrical issues, and making machinery run better than it did yesterday, this could be a great fit.
Our site operates in a high-volume FMCG environment, so reliability, quick thinking, and strong technical skills are essential.
The role sits within a large, well-established FMCG manufacturing organisation operating across Europe and supplying major retail and customers internationally.
With overemployees and a multi million pound in annual turnover, the company continues to invest heavily in its manufacturing operations, engineering capability, and production technology across its network of European sites.
The site itself runs high-speed automated manufacturing lines, industrial processing equipment, packaging systems, and supporting utilities, creating a fast-paced environment where engineering reliability and technical expertise are critical to keeping production running efficiently.
Shift Pattern
This is a days-based role with two shift options available:
6:00am – 2:00pm
10:00am – 7:00pm
Salary: £49,000
What You'll Be Doing
As part of the engineering team, you'll play a key role in keeping the factory running safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production equipment and site utilities
Responding to breakdowns and faults to minimise production downtime
Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing machinery
Supporting production teams by keeping equipment reliable and performing at its best
Helping improve machine performance, efficiency, and waste reduction
Ensuring work is carried out in line with health & safety and GMP standards
Maintaining accurate maintenance records and reports
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a busy manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.
What I'm Looking For
Strong electrical maintenance experience
Ideally an electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship, or equivalent) or clear evidence of electrical competence
Previous experience working in FMCG or food manufacturing
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with production teams
What's in it for you?
20 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays
Competative pension and other benefits
If you feel this role is something you're looking for, or you want to know more infomation, then reach out via email or call.
